Why Unifire Uses Brushless (BLDC) Motors in its Robotic Nozzles
Unifire’s new generation of robotic nozzles now exclusively use brushless (BLDC) motors.
Brushless motors are used in industrial robots and other applications that require long life, high torque, high accuracy and durability.
Brushless motors are different in many respects to standard DC motors, or “brushed” motors.
Unifire has moved to brushless motors because, in a word, they are superior in many ways and are, in fact, required for some of the applications for our robotic nozzles that require very long life and high accuracy and greater torque.
The following YouTube video from the Learn Engineering Channel provides a good, basic overview of BLDC motors and how they offer superior qualities over the standard brushed DC motors used by traditional water cannon and monitor manufacturers.
